Such Beauty Pion

I love any shade of purple. I try to use the color as often as I can. So, when the Fairytale of Spring Collection came out I knew I had to have it. The purples and the cream mixed with the lovely flowery design was a perfect combination for me.

Such Beauty

From the cut out sheet, I cut out a matching tag for hidden journaling and tucked it behind the layered paper.

This paper is amazing. It's double sided, so if you wanted to do some folding over you have a design on the backside.

Although you can't tell from this photo, there is a lot of soft color on this Dusty Attic piece. I first painted it a warm cream. Once dried I dabbed Tim Holtz Milled Lavender Distress ink on the leaves. Touched it with a bit of Plum Berry Smooch, then lightly inked some of the edges with Chestnut Roon Cat Eye ink. For some sparkle I used Star Dust Stickles.

Pion Designs GDT Book Box

I was so excited to get my GDT box from Pion Designs. I hadn't seen these paper in person and was dying to get my hands on them. Holding them, they were everything that I'd imagined. Rich vingtage colors and thick cardstock.

I thought it would be fun for my first project not to be a layout. So, I decided to make a book box using the newly released From my Heart 2 line.

Here is the front cover. I made a little vine and used the images from the From my heart 2 cut out sheet.

Here's a peek at the inside. Perfect to stow away those little love notes :)

Okay, so I do feel so much better about this page than my last layout...lol!!!

I made the flower using the TH Tattered Flowers Die. All I did was use white cardstock and inked the edges, simple really.

This is just a close-up of the doily that I sprayed with glimmer mist. I think doilies work great for a larger photo mat.

My PITA Layout!!!

Do you ever have one of those layouts that's a complete pain in the ass??? The one that you keep messing up on. Not what it looks like in your head. Finally, you just say SCREW IT!!! Well, this one was mine!!!! I kept messing with the damn thing and ripped it!! Grrr....

I was "trying" the resist tutorial over at Swirlydoos. While dabbing the mist I ripped the paper. Guess I was being to rough...lol!! I just left it and added more rips.....in anger!!!

I repeated the resist on the tag to prove to myself that I could do it and it worked :)

I'm ashamed to say that this a DT layout for Swirlydoos....I'm sorry!

This is my fav little guy, Elijah. When I'm stuck on a title I usually go to the kid that I'm scrapping and ask them what I should title it. Well, Elijah is a Batman fan and he went with Mr. Freeze. Hehee...cute huh?

I'm still working on my masculine pages. I've been working with molding paste for texture and lots of ink.

Hello all!! Can you believe Christmas is already THIS weekend!?!?! The days just fly by around here. I had to take some time out for myself and work on this weeks palette. I have to say, I did struggle a bit with these colors. I used some leftovers from a Swirlydoos kit that's over a year old...lol!! Love going through my stash!!!

The Color Room Palette #87

Hello all!! Just a quick post today to show ya my entry for this weeks Color Room palette. Again, colors that I don't normally scrap. This is the reason why I love the color room so much!! Gets me totally motivated!!

This week I followed the sketch as closely as I could. It's such a nice sketch with lots of negative space, but I couldn't stop myself with the embellishments! The pretty butterflies, I call Moon's Sparkle, can be found at my ESTY SHOP.

The Color Room Palette #86

I totally missed playing along with The Color Room. Now that things have settled down at home front I have my free time back...yay!!

I've been waiting for the perfect palette to scrap Elijah's back to school pics. And, in the meantime I was collecting and hording masculine embellishments...lol!!

We really don't dig turkey, so Michael cooked a ham instead for Thanksgiving. Sooooo, I kept the netting the ham came in. Love that stuff!!!

Just a close up of the cool ass Dusty Attic brick panels.

I just love ripping and getting my hands dirt when it comes to corrugated cardboard. Here I just painted the cardboard. While it was tacky I added ripped pieces of pattern paper and glued down with Modge Podge. Then, I painted over the paper and heated. Once dried I peeled back little bits of the paper to give a peeling wall paper look.

Here is this weeks palette...very inspirational!!

Swirlydoos September Reveal

And, man, is it hard to duplicate. I tried my best to scraplift her style, but mine looks nothing like hers :( I love the look of all her embellishments. Swirlydoos Round Robin Challenge

Hello all!! Today I would like to share a page I did for the Round Robin Challenge at Swirlydoos. I'm on Team 2 Spot 2. I got to lift Erin's gorgeous page.

I used the Tim Holt papers that came in the Swirlydoos August Technique Kit. To make the paper purplish burgundy color I used Pomegranate Glimmermist and ink the edges with Walnut Stain Distress Ink.

The Color Room Palette # 69

Hello fellow bloggers! Today I'd like to share with you the page I made for The Color Room #69 Palette. I'm happy to say that I used My Minds Eye pattern paper that's like 4 or 5 years old!!!! I love digging through my stash and using old products in a new way. The butterflies are from my Etsy shop. I'm a huge butterfly freak and HAVE to HAVE them in ALL my layouts...lol!!

This is my dd when she was just 3 years old...sigh! Now she's 13 and helps her baby sister make wishes with dandelions. She's such a sweet girl!

About a year ago I picked up the flower border at Michaels. The top had black lace that didn't match much. So, I tore it off, glued seam binding and added Zva 12" pearl strips.

Here I scrunched up a doilie, opened it very carefully, then sprayed with Patina and Dreamsicle Glimmermist.

I did it!! I played along again this week!!!! When I first saw this weeks palette I was really intimated. I was thinking to skip it and try again next week. I've never scrapped these colors before. But, I figured if I pulled the colors and worked with the sketch it shouldn't be that hard. So, that's what I did and this is the turn out.

I had so much fun making the two masculine pages for reveal day using the June "Looking Glass" Kit. I just has to do another!! So, here it is.............

Tribute

This is my grandfather on my mother's side. The picture was taken in the early1940's when he served in the United States Army. Sadly, I never got to meet him. He passed away before I was born.

For the Dusty Attic hinge chippy I first inked with Distress Ink and misted with Gold Perfect Pearls. Once that was dry I applied crackle. When the crackle was dry, using the tip of my scissors, I scraped off some of crackle layer.

This is just a close-up of all the layering and tucking. I used a tip from a fellow Swirlydoos Designers, Camilla, to use foam dots in between layers. This makes the tucking easier.

I've been a lurker of The Color Room what seems like forever. I finally decided to sit down and actually do a page with this weeks palette. I had so many left over goodies from my Swirly stash that match perfectly with palette. This is my daughter Cleapatra. She will be turning 12 tomorrow, June 11th. In celebration of her birthday, I'd thought it would be nice to scrap a picture of her! Happy Birthday Sweetie!!

June Reveal for Swirlydoos

OMG OMG OMG....that was me opening my box stuffed full with the June Swirlydoos Kit "The Looking Glass". I was totally freaking out because this kit was masculine themed. Masculine pages!!! ME?!??! I can't do masculine!! It's soooo hard for me! Boy oh boy has that changed!! I dived right into the kit and got my hands dirty.... literally!!

The Hawk

This awesome gear key chippy comes in the Main Kit. I misted it heavily with Perfect Pearls Forever Red.

I ripped up the box the kit came in. And had at with with gesso, smooch spritz (embellie kit) and perfect pearls mist. I adhered it to the black cardstock with foam dots and tucked Dusty Attic brick chippies underneath. The Brink Chipboard didn't come in the kit, but being a subscriber to Swirlydoos gives you the opportunity to use the Special Orders forum.

Be Cool

This page is based on the Exclusive Swirlydoos Sketch by Begga

The main has the very cool Tattered Angels Pocket Watch Alphas. I inked it with Chestnut Roon Cat's eye then used Gold Alcohol ink. I attached the chain that came in the embellie kit for the added look of a pocket watch.

I added a bunch of little do-dads. I raided my dads tool box of bolts and nuts...lol! The Tattered Angels Glimmer Glass was fun to work with. I did some misting and heated with the heat gun.

I'm so happy with the way my two boy pages came out :)

Now, I don't have the fear of not being able to do masculine pages. I actually really enjoyed putting these two together!! Thanks Krissy for hearing some of the Swirly girls out about getting a masculine kit together!

I used the Tattered Angel stamp along the side. I have the glimmer screen in my stash, so I was able to layer them. Pretty cool effect!

This beautiful tiny pocket watch came in the embellie kit. I put a cute little matching butterfly in it.

This time when I used the pocket Watch I just used the gold alcohol ink and placed a flower in the center.

April Zva Layouts

Hello everyone. I've been out of sorts with a cold for the past few days, but had to share my lastest Zva pages. I also have some sad news...well sad for me. I've stepped down from my Zva Design Team spot. It was a wonderful 18 months and I will truly miss designing for this amazing company. But, I have some new and exciting things going on in my personal life that I won't have as much time as I would like to scrapbook. With that said, here our my last two projects for the team.

Those Cheeks

I love the look of doilies,especially when they're misted. But, when they're wet they can tear very easily. I found if you peel two together and mist they're much easier to work with. Here I used Old Lace and Cafe Tattered Angel Glimmermist.

Buttons are the perfect embellishment on baby pages. Tying them off with thread is the perfect finishing touch.

Here is a close-up of Zva's new flowers. Pretty!Pretty!!

Best Buds

Here I used LisaG's circle technique. Which you can find HERE in a video tutorial. It's one of my favorite things to do to a circle.

Swirlydoos April Collection " Bella Volo"

It's reveal day at Swirlydoos. This month's kit, Bella Volo, features the lovely new paper collection from Bo Bunny. Krissy did an amazing job matching up every embellishment to coordinate perfectly with theses papers.

Dare to Dream

For this chipboard piece I painted it white then stamped with the Prima script stamp. Afterwards, I added some crackle.

Well, I finally broke down and bought a sewing machine. I love the look of stitching on a page. But, I hate sewing!!!! My mom taught my girls how to use a machine, I figured it they can do it so can I. Clea, my 11 year old daughter, taught me how to...what the sayings...load the thread..yikes! She told me what a bobbin is and what to do with it. She was an awesome teacher. Now, I love it!!!

Just Be

For this DA peice, I painted it brown then added a mint color here and there. When it was a tad dry I brushed some bronze perefect pearls.

The tech kit came with lots of yummy DA!!! For the hinges I just painted them white. I used the Zva pearl strips as a frame.

Being Cute

Oh my Delilah!! Her famous head tilt when she has the camera pointed at her.

Okay, so, I'm still practicing on my stitching...lol!!

Sweet Baby ZVA CREATIVE

This is my dd when she was just six weeks old. Now she's 2 and talking up a storm! I showed her this page and she said, "Look Mommy! That baby is me! So cute!". Lol...I love her to death!

Daddy's Girl ZVA CREATIVE

Hello fellow bloggers! Just a quick post today using Zva Creative Blooms and Flourishes.

This is my hubby and our little girl. The title says it all. She's a total Daddy's Girl. It's so adorable how she has him wrapped around her little pinkie...lol!!

I made a pocket for a pull-out tag. The tag has a little note that Michael wrote to Delilah.

The black crystal flourishes on the right side of the page, come with the butterfly attached. I just clip the butterfly off to use on the empty space on the left.

Zva has these gorgeous little roses in array of colors. But, if you were at CHA you'd know that Zva is coming out with some new flower designs. Stay tuned!!

Reveal Day at Swirlydoos Things Remembered

It's that time again!! Reveal for the February Kit, "Things Remembered", from Swirlydoos. Although it's a few days late, it's totally worth the wait!! This kit is bursting with beautiful pattern papers from TPC Studio and coordinating embellishment. Perfect for your heritage pictures or even your everyday photos!!

The Best of Times

Here are my girls back in 2004. Nefferteari was 5 and Cleapatra was 4. This was the age were I was constantly asked if they were twins. Now that they are older you can see the age difference. I'm so glad that I don't have to answer that question anymore...lol!

Here are some close-ups. I used the corner punched technique on a circle. I cut the circle in half and place each piece on opposite sides if the page.

I used two items from the Embellishment Add-on. The peach flowers and the Metal plaques.

Dreamer

This page is based on the Exclusive Sketch. Our very own Robin use the sketch on several of her pages. But, she flip, flopped and reversed to get a different look each time. Check out the forums or the gallery to see her pages.

I used some flowers from a past kit and some butterflies from my Etsy.

Keepsakes

This is a photo of my father's mother and sister. I have to say that this page look so much better in person. The camera couldn't capture the softness of the layout.The colors of the close-ups are more like the real page. Anyways, I wanted the pattern paper to be a bit lighter. So, to give it a "Ghosted" effect, I took a Brilliance white stamp pad and swiped it all over the paper.

I used the little pearl dangle to make a charm for the stick pin.

I added some Diamond Dust and Stickled to the petal edges.

Memories

This is a picture of my mom holding me not to long ago..hehehee!!! Yeah right, you can totally see 70's written all over the pictures. LATE 70's that is...lol! I did a lot of wet distressing here.

I used the rub-on that came in the Embellie Add-on on a treated DA chippie.

Just a peek on what's to come for the Reveal Day at Swirlydoos. This kit unbelievably gorgeous!!

Lil beauty

To get the torn "peek-a-boo" I cut out a triangle. Then distressed and rolled the edges. The book page is a Memory Makers 12 x 12 sheet. It was a light cream and I need a darker shade. So, I used Chestnut Roon Cat Eyes and smeared it along the paper. After I used the Glimmermist that comes with the kit. I sprayed, bunched it up then heated to dry.

I painted the DA chippie with a metallic white paint. Once dried, I painted over it with a sheer metallic brown paint. Vice-versa for the bottom layer.

I used the same technique above for the book pages behind the photo mat.

Reveal Day for the February Kit may bit a later than the normal last day of the month, due to Krissy being at CHA. Let me tell ya, it's worth the wait!!!

Reveal Day at Swirlydoos Retro Tapestry

It's reveal day for the Swirlydoos January kit 'Retro Tapestry'. What a kit to start off the new year. With is beautifully bold and vibrant colors yet with an elegant touch.

Darling

The pattern papers in the kit are soooooo pretty. You can get so many color combinations. As you will see from the blog post :)

I'll post a tutorial soon on how to make the flower at the bottom of the page.

The Dusty Attic gate didn't come with the kit. But, another perk about being a Swirly member is the Special Order forum. We ask and Krissy sets it up for us.

American Beauty

Green. I've never scrapped this much green on one page. Out of the 6 pages I did, this is no doubt my favorite.

For the bunched up tulle, I put a layer of hot glue then pinched the tulle into it.

I made the black flower using the water distressing method and sprayed with glimmermist.

As blue as the sky

I've been scrapping some of my older photos spiced up with photoshop. The Photoshop Forum is an excellent place to gets lots of tips and ideas.

The Embellishment add-on has an awesome transparency sheet with birds and butterflies.

It's hard to tell from the photo but this paper has glitter. It's super sparkly IRL.

Using the liquid pearls and Dazzlers glitter for the Embellishment add-on I made the butterfly trail. When the liquid pearls was still wet I sprinkled the glitter on for a sugared look.

Totally love the transparent butterflies!!

This page was done based on the Exclusive Swirlydoos sketch.

When putting this page together I was thinking I didn't want just black and white. So, I thought I'd use DH favorite color, orange.

I added some diamond dust to the tips of the flowers and butterflies.

I really love the new stickers from Glitz. Yes, I said stickers...lol! They have a clear backing and little gems embedded into the plastic. So cool!

My boy

Here is the ultimate challenge with this kit. Making a masculine page. If you know me you know that I'm always at a lost when it comes to boy pages. I get stuck on what embellies to use because I refuse to put flowers and flourishes on my son's page. Well, only if his sisters are in the photo with him...lol!

I did a lot of tearing and water distressing to give a grunge up look. Overall, you can make masculine pages with Swirlydoos Kits!!

My Etsy Reopening and a Zva page

To bring in the New Year I've reopened my Esty Shop. I took a month and a half break for the holidays and now I'm ready to roll. Here are just a couple of items that I've listed. All in all I listed over 80 items. I'm excited to share with you what I have been up to. Head on over to my shop to see all items. Angelica's Little Scrap Shop

New to my shop are these Floral Corner Scrolls. Example how to use below.

I did this page for ZVA using their blooms. And figured I can make the scroll with my flowers. All the buyer would have to do is glue down to their page.

I've also added some different styles of handmade flowers. I love these little blooms. I've already sold a set!!

I've made some new stick pin designs. 25 to be exact :)

I've listed 20 new beautiful butterflies. This one is my fav!!

Zva Creative December DT Blog Hop

Zva Creative and the Design Team welcomes you to join us this month for a blog hop that we feel is always extra special!

Hello everyone! I hope you are all enjoying your holiday season. I know I am!!! The kids last day of school is Friday. Then, it's 20 days of sleeping in...well...maybe not on Christmas morning...lol!!

Here is one of my December ZVA DT layouts.

Little Sister

I took these pictures on Delilah's 2nd birthday last month with this layout design in mind. I did a quadrant layout a loooooooong time ago and I thought it was time to do it again. I really love the way it turned out.

With the leafy branch I cut it in half and used a piece here....

and here. Then I placed some flowers to the cut ends. It's a good way to get your crystals on more than one place on your page.

I'm so excited to announce that I will be working another term with the BEST KIT CLUB there is!!! SWIRLYDOOS of course!! Not only is Swirlydoos a one of a kind club but we also have the most talented designers and members. It is such an honor to be working with Krissy again! Thank you Krissy and Lisa.

Reveal Day at Swirlydoos Divine Noel

It's Reveal day for Swirlydoos December Kit "Divine Noel". No need to search on for that perfect Christmas Kit. Divine Noel has it all. From the new IOD and Bo-Bunny pattern papers to the new Prima and Petaloo Christmas vines. Everything you need to create such beautiful pages for your warm Christmas memories. With this kit I was able to bring out some of my old photos that I hadn't scrapped because I didn't have the right paper and embellishments. Enjoy!!

I misted the Dusty Attic Reindeers with Moonmist. Heated...then sprayed again to get layers of colors.

Aww, how I miss those little faces!!! They really do grow so fast. I love the look of the green and cream.

I made the poinsettia using my Cricut.

Just a little tip for those of you who don't have the Sizzix. I love Tim Holtz dies but don't have a the diecut machine. I found this shop on Etsy that sells precut die cuts from chipboard. You can find it HERE. I painted the chipboard and off whited, misted with green glimmer mist then inked the edges.

Just a close up of the layering and distressing I did with the Zutter. A must have tool if ya love to deep distress.

Spirit of the Season

These are my four kids and my two nephews. The smile on my nephew face is so funny...lol!!

I just want to note that this page matches in real life...lol!! I don't know why it photographed with the embellishments looking so red!! Blah!

Here's a little tip.... the poinsettia was a bit bright to match these burgundy papers. So, what I did was painted the flowers with Candy Apple Glimmer mist. Then just reapplied the glitter with gold stickles.

I made the roses and sprayed with glimmer mist.

Noel

This is my dd last year. Sorry the photo looks a little washed out. With the weather we're having it hard to take a good photo. For this page I did some fussy cutting and applied with foam dots do give a shadow box effect.

The Exclusive Sketch

Merry Christmas

OMG...when I saw this sketch the first thing I thought was HOLY CRAP TRIANGLES!!!!!!!!!!!! I can't remember ever using triangles on my pages. It took me about an hour....and lots of scraps.....to figure out how to draw the damn things!! Overall, I LOVE how this page turned out!!

Just a close up of my triangles. I wrapped some fibers around the trees and added some stickles to the edges. Placed some rhinestones and Viola a triangle Christmas tree...hehee!!

I did some paper tearing and deep distressing. Then, placed some pearl strand on the layers.

Zva and Swirlydoos

I love it when I get Zva and Swirlydoos together. They mesh well, don't cha think? All the paper products came with the Simply Irresistible Kit along with the mist. All the blooms and bling are Zva.

Pretty Cute

The cardboard came with the kit. What I did was tear off the first layer. Then, painted with gesso. Gesso is a bit thicker than paint and gives a better cover. While it was still wet I misted with Tattered Angel Chalkboard Mist and heated.

Here is a close up of ZVA's new Leafy Vines. I love working with these. They are so unique, for no other company has made this design yet.

I am so happy that Lisa shared the tutorial on punched edged circle. It my new favorite technique. Now, I just gotta get me some more corner punches...lol! You can find the Tutorial HERE.

Sweetie ZVA CREATIVE

This is one of my DT projects for Zva Creative. I used their gorgeous new mix of rhinestone and pearl leafy flourishes. You can find them HERE.

Sweetie

I've been somewhat stuck in a rut and feeling that all my pages are starting to look alike. So, I wanted to do something different. I lined up two differnt leafy flourishes along the top of the page and place flowers here and there. The stick pin is a gift from my good friend Mandy. The colors of the ribbon matched the page perfectly...thank you sweetie!!

Here is a close-up of the leafy flourishes. You can see that they are combined with pearls and crystals. I did some wet distressing on two different pattern papers and layered. You can find an awesome tutorial on Wet Distressing HERE.

Reveal Day at Swirlydoos November Simply Irresistible Kit

It's our favorite day of the month again!!! Reveal Day over at Swirlydoos. Our November Kit Simply Irresistible, it JUST that....Simply Irresistible. It's absolutely beautiful with the new Pink Paislee Parisian Anthology. It was so enjoyable to make our own colored papers with the resist backgrounds. Along with all the gorgeous embellishment and add-ons, this kit it a must have.

Fairies

For the Dusty Attic piece, I painted with an off white paint, inked the edges with a light brown pad then added stickels.

The Swirlygirls are in for a treat. Video Tutorials!! Our very own Lisa has a brand new tutorial on how to use a corner punch to make a circular mat. Visit the Tutorial Section in the Swirlydoos Forums. This is one that you don't want to miss!!

Bright Eyes

To give the page more dimension I used foam dots sandwiched between the card stock and Dusty Attic frame.

For this Dusty Attic piece I used a foam brush and blotted with Gesso to give more texture. I lightly misted and added Diamond Dust in some areas. The tech kit came with Tatter Angels Mistable Crepe Paper. So I misted it, folded and stuck it behind the photo mat.

2 B Young

The resist paper is amazing!!!!!! Here I used Tim Holtz Distress ink and Tattered Angel's Glam. If you would like to see how to use these papers Swirlydoos has a Video Tutorial HERE.

Soprano

Here is the Tatter Angels Mistable Crepe Paper again. I left it bare and bunched it up behind the mat.

I love this beautiful cameo. I tore the center out of the Petaloo flower and glued the cameo instead.

This page is based on the Exclusive Sketch for Swirlydoos by Begga.

The main kit came with super gorgeous white fibers. I misted this trim to match the page.

My Sonny Boy

I used Lisa tutorial once again. This time I made the circle a ring and misted.
