It's no secret that I love purple! When I saw that the kit was going to have Maja Vintage Autumn paper I was ecstatic! I jump right in to the kit and created four projects with ease!

I had to get the Pattern Paper Add-on!! This paper is so gorgeous that I had to make sure I had more than one before I started tearing things up.  I did lots of layering, distressing and misting. For the Blue Fern clock I just painted it with Gesso. Then added mists and paints. The English Lavender Butterflies I created to match the kit. You can find them at my Etsy Shop.

So, I'm addicted to stick pins! Surprise,Surprise...lol! I also love Teacups and Teapots!! I combined the two with my favorite color and made this adorable Teacup Stick Pin Holder! The Maja paper is sturdy enough to hold the shape of the Teacup. I love the way it turned out!

I took a break from the purples and went with neutrals for this page.  I used the Kasiercraft Art of Life papers. I went light with the distressing and did more layering. The Worn Rose Butterflies can also be found at my Etsy Shop. Come like me on Facebook!!
This is my page based on the monthly sketch. I did a step-by step tutorial on how I created this page.  You can find it on the Anatomy of Layout Thread.
Here is the sketch. Be sure to enter the sketch challenge. Anyone can play!!

Layouts with the Shabby Chalet Kit, Swirlydoos

Hi everyone! I'm excited to share two more pages I made using the Swirlydoos January Kit, Shabby Chalet. I just loved this kit! The Fabscraps papers are so pretty and easy to work with!
For this page I wanted to do a monochromatic color scheme. So, I just used the gray-ish papers and embellishments. I first did all the deep distressing then painted on some gesso. Once dried I added some mist and molding paste. Then from there just layered up on the paper and embellishments.

Here I wanted a softer more elegant feel and went with the light pink and green. I have a collection of vintage images and just HAD to use this lovely picture of a Ballet Dancer. I  did some light distressing and misting. The papers are sooo pretty it was hard so cut them up. So, I used larger pieces and less embellishments.

Be sure to come visit again on February 5th for the February reveal and blog hop! I'll be doing Anatomy of a Layout and here is a sneak peek!

Thanks for taking the time!

OMG!! I love this kit! The mix of colors are so pretty and feminine. I couldn't wait to jump in and start distressing paper....my fav thing to do  :O)
Pink and Cream....a shabby combination I adore. I've been waiting for the perfect kit to scrap this vintage photo. I used two of the same papers and layered them. Cutting the middle out of the bottom and placing on the top piece with foam dots for dimension.
The butterflies I used on this page are called Wilted Rose and you can find them HERE.
The blues in the kit are gorgeous. They have a hint of gray and work perfectly with the gray Prima Flowers in the Flower-Add on. The butterflies are one of my newest addition to my Etsy shop. I digitally made them to coordinate with the kit. You can find them HERE.
This is my sketch page. I have a hard time scrapping tiny photos, so I went with one large. I did some machine stitching and misting. I also inked the paper before using a mask and molding paste. These butterflies I also created to match the kit and you can find them HERE.

Last projects of the year!

Hello everyone! Are you all set for Christmas? I am for sure and wanted to share my last Christmas projects with the Joyeux Noel Kit.
This is one of the many pictures I took of my kids last Christmas. I loved the colors I used on my tag at reveal. So, I did the same colors and techniques but on a scrapbook page.
Here is a quick card I made under 20 minutes using my scraps.

Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!!

It's the most wonderful time of the year!! I love everything about Christmas! Swirlydoos only themed kit makes it easy to scrap Christmas photos and make cards.
For my first project I knew I wanted to go with a softer shabby chic style.  I did some machine stitching and light distressing. The gold poinsettia is from my supplies. I've had it for years and was happy that I could finally use  it!

For my second project I made on over sized tag. I pulled the colors from the vintage photo and added lots of gesso for a frosted look.

December Sketch by our designer Begga. The sketch challenge is opened to all, so come and join us!
