More Salutations Projects

Hello everyone!! Happy Wednesday! I have 2 more projects to share using the Swirlydoos March Kit, Salutations.

 

First up is a layout. I totally love the burlap flower sprays that come in the kit. So, I based the colors on my layout on them. I made some matching butterflies out of burlap...you can find the tutorial on the Swirlydoos Blog. 



 

 I love making little pockets that hold trinkets and tags. The kit came with all those fabulous Prima tags and it gave me an idea.  I couldn't resist making a pocket out of the paper bag the Flower-Add On comes in. I took the paper bag and made  two pockets. The front holds all the small tags and ATC cards. And the back pocket holds a large tag I made using Prima packaging.

 Here's all the goodies that are tucked inside.

Graphic 45 Botanical Tea Mini Album

I'm a big fan of Graphic 45!So when they had sneak peeks at CHA I knew I had to have the Botanical Tea Collection! It's so pretty and elegant! I love the colors, the butterflies, the birds and tea!! As soon as it hit stores I went and stocked up!!  Here is my first project so far.... a 6x6 chipboard mini album! I had a fabulous time cutting into all the paper....making tags and pockets!

 

Here is the front cover. I did some machine stitching and lots of layering. I used some of my Rose Garden Butterflies from my Etsy shop.

 The chipboard album is held together with rings. I added lots of pretty seam binding, ribbon, fibers and flowers.

For all the pages, one side I have left room for a photo mat and on the other side I made a pocket to hold tags.

 As you can see it's nice and chunky...full with lots of embellies!

I swear, every month  I start off with I love this kit!! Well, that's because I simply DO! This kit was no exception!! I love to scrap with dark rich colors. Add in a light paper and it makes it soft. That's how versatile this kit is as you will see in my projects.

 

I love the color combination of red, black and gray. It's elegant with bit of an edge. I did some deep distressing, masking with molding paste, machine stitching and lots of layering. I like my pages nice and thick so I have a huge collection of different size and thickness of foam squares. I digitally created the butterflies, Iron Maiden, to match the gray in the Prima Stationer's Desk Paper. You can also find similar stick pins at my Etsy Shop. 

 For my second project I made a canvas. We got the this Tim Holtz District Market Canvas in Tech/Project Kit months ago...and....yeah...I've been hoarding it!! I figured it was time to use it to make room for other stuff I'm going to hoard..lol!

 This is my take on the sketch. Instead of the line across the page, I settled for some distressed lacing. The red roses are from my stash. They weren't the deep red like in the papers. So, I painted them with Mel's Diner Glimmermist to get them the right rich shade of red. The butterflies, Rose Romantique, are another set of I created to match the kit. You can find them at my LittleScrapShop.
