More projects with Swirlydoos Dec Kit

Hello Friends! I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas! It comes so quickly and before you know it, it's New Year's. Are you ready for 2015?

I have some more projects to share using the Swirlydoos December Kit, Enchanted Evening.

For my first project I made a canvas. Using the Clear Gesso and Ferro Paint from Mediums Kit, I made the texture base.   From there I just layered up the embellishments.

The second project I made is a layout. I usually get  inspired by the paper or embellishments. This time around the title of the kit, Enchanted Evening, made me want to scrap a sultry yet romantic photo.

I love the new Bobunny Collection, Rose Café. There's so many different color combos to work with. I was able to pull off three completely different layouts. I hope they inspire you!

This is my favorite pattern paper in the collection. I did some light inking, splattering and stamping. Then, I used a mask and modeling paste for more layers. The Orchid Butterfly is a new addition to my Little Scrap Shop.

I've had this vintage photo in my stash for awhile now waiting for the perfect papers. When I saw the yellow/gold and brown I knew this was it. I did a few distressed layers on the sides. For the  Blue Fern chippy I used the Clear Gesso, Ferro and the Inklingz ( all from the Mediums Add-on) for the treatment. The Mellow Yellow Butterflies can be found in my Little Scrap Shop on Etsy.
This is my interpretation of the December Sketch. Instead of using four photos I just used three.  And then added a embellishment cluster to the top. You know I love to fill my pages. :) The Navy Blue Butterflies can be found in my Little Scrap Shop on Etsy.

Here is the monthly sketch. Join us in our sketch challenge on the Swirlydoos Challenge Thread. All are welcome!

More Beloved projects from Swirlydoos Kit Club

Hello friends! I hope you had a very festive Thanksgiving!

It's my turn today to share some more projects I made using the November kit, Beloved. This was such a beautiful kit to work with. One you must have!

This is the layout I made for the DT challenge. We all scrapped the same photo and had the gals guess. Did you guess correctly? A huge thank you to our Pegs for sharing her priceless photo with us. This was definitely a fun challenge and I hope we get to do it again soon.

The Kasiercraft Rusty Harmony pattern papers are so gorgeous. I couldn't chose between what sheets I should use. So, I cut strips from left over scraps and one of the sheets that had like 6 designs, distressed then layered them.

For my final project I made a shadow box canvas.  I made plenty of layers for that 3D effect.

 Thanks for stopping by!

We have some absolutely beautiful scrapbook projects for you to see today!
This month, designer Kim challenged the design team to use this picture on a layout.
And, we are challenging YOU to figure out which designer made each layout!

Can you guess which one is mine?
This layout is based on the sketch. It's such a pretty sketch but I have a hard time using one than one photo. The Chalice Butterflies are a new addition to my Etsy shop. They are gray with a hint of peach....a perfect match for the Kaisercraft Rustic Harmony Collection.

Here is the November Sketch. Come play in our Sketch Challenge. Everyone is welcomed!!

It's my turn this month to do Anatomy of a Layout. You can find the step by step process of this layout HERE, in the Swirlydoos Forums.

I'm really excited to announce that my handmade butterflies are in the Embellishment Add-on. Krissy chose the Moments Butterflies, from my Etsy Shop, to match perfectly with the kits! So, if you didn't get the embellie kit you can mosey over to my LittleScrapShop and pick up a set! Or if you did get the Emebllie kit but want more butterflies....we always want more..lol...come on over! :o)

Treasured Yesterdays 2nd Reveal

Hello everyone! Today I'm sharing two more projects I made with the utterly gorgeous October Kit, Treasured Yesterdays. For both projects I used mostly the Prima Epiphany papers and embellishments.

First up is a mini album. I took the Honeycomb Resist Canvas, cut it in half and machine stitched the two pieces together to make the album. Here is the front cover.

page 1 and 2

 page 3 and 4

page 5 and 6

Here is a layout of my two oldest girls. I'd thought I'd scrap a picture of their real selves since the last page I did of them they were all made up. I painted the orange flowers  from the Flower Add-On with Gesso. They were a bit to bright and I needed more of a peach to better match my color scheme.

Here are just some close-ups of all the layering of paper and embellies that I love t do!

Thanks for taking a peek!

Swirlydoos Kit Club October Reveal

Happy Columbus Day!! We are not having a blog hop this month, but there will still be ways to win some prizes and, of course, beautiful projects to see from our talented design team!  Go to the Swirlydoos blog to find out how you can win some fabulous prizes just by being a part of our NEW Facebook gallery! Make sure you have LIKED & FOLLOWED Swirlydoos on Facebook!!!

I made three layouts for our first reveal. This kit, you guys, is beautiful! Lots of pretty new Prima Epiphany Line mixed perfectly with Blue Fern Studios. And lots of yummy embellishments!

So, I love embellishments :)
and I went a bit crazy here!
OMG! I love Blue Fern Studios paper! It's so thick and the designs are so so pretty! This paper in particular is one of my favorites because of the fairy.  So, I decided to keep with the theme and use a photo of Delilah morphed into a baby fairy :) I did some masking in the back ground and layered all the embellishments. Petals on the Wind Butterflies can be found at my Etsy Shop.

This my take on the sketch.  My four loves are all in school now. This is the first time in 16 years that I'm home alone. Even though I'm quite busy I've had to do some adjusting....it's just way to quiet. Anyhoo...first time using bakers twine on a layout...pretty cool!
