Swirlydoos Designer Spotlight with April Kit

Hi everyone! I'm up first with the Swirlydoos Designer Spotlight with the April Kit. There were some shipping delays with the company. So, aren't having a blog hop this month. Needless to say, things are back on track and good to go. Instead, all the design team members will have there own day to show you their lovely creations. Here are mine....4 pages and card.

First I'd like to mention that my So Chic Butterfly Embellishments from my Etsy Store, Little Scrap Shop, are featured in the Embellishment Add-on. If you a butterfly fanatic, like me, you can always find them there if you would like more!  :)

My first page is based off the April Sketch. I always do the sketch first when getting started on the kit. I did a lot of misting on the paper to get the pink color.
The Sketch

Again, I did a lot of misting with pink and did some masking. The cream flowers that came in the Flower add-on are really cool! The look and feel almost like a real flower!

I love the awesome Blue Fern Studio Frame! I first painted it with gesso then just sprayed it with glimmermist. The Prima LOVE letters are cool! I just misted and inked them, then let them dry before I added them to the frame.
Here, I went with the more natural tones of green, brown, and cream. I sprayed the white flowers and seam binding with the mist that is in the Medium- Add-on.

Lastly, I made a card with all my left over bits.

April Blue Fern Studio Projects using the NEW Deja Vu Collection

Hello all! Today I'm here to share my April project with you. I made three layouts using the gorgeous new collection Deja Vu. The papers are designed beautifully and the colors are so sweet! I really love the soft tones of the purple, yellows, and green.

My first layout is based on April's sketch. I used the Friperies paper as  my background and used Tresors as my accents layers. The title "memories" is from the Petites Cartes papers. The butterflies are the Tea Time Set from my Etsy store, Little Scrap Shop.

For the chipboard pieces  I used Boston Lattice and Mesh Bits. I first painted with gesso and sprinkled lightly some cleat UTEE. Heated until the UTEE is melted then sprayed with mist.
I also used on of the new pieces that coordinate with the Deja Vu Collection. This one here is a piece from the Deja Vu Dangle set.

For this page I used the La Plume paper as my background. Then tearing and layering on top I used the Un Voyage A Paris paper. I took a piece of the Luminaires paper to run down my page. The Sweet Yellow Dragonflies and Dragonfly Stick Pin are also from Little Scrap Shop.

I used gesso and  paint on the Chelsea Vines. Then sprinkles some colored glitter glass on the tip of the leaves.
For the title I used the word Delight from the Delight Set.
This lovely lamp post is also new to coordinate with the Deja Vu Collection. This one is called Luminaires. It comes in a set of two and I used the larger on a previous layout I made.

The soft green color in the papers is one of my favorite shades of green. I used the Atelier paper as my background then layered  Tresors. I fussy cut some images from the Friperies and Petites Cartes papers. The butterflies, So Chic,  are one of my personal favs from my shop.

This is another piece from the Deja Vu Dangle Set. I painted with gesso, misted, and lightly dabbed some distress glitter to finish the piece.
Here I used the Small Roman Clock. I used the same dressing as above.
Thank you for taking the time! I hope I've inspire you to get the Deja Vu collection. It's one that you should have in your stash! :)

New Blue Fern Studios Deja Vu Layout

Hi everyone! I received my Blue Fern design team package with the new Deja Vu Collection. I loooove this new collection! Mainly because...well.... it has lavender! LOL! My most favorite color to scrap with!!! So, I got right down to it and scrapped my daring daughter, Nefferteari. She just turned 17 and every year I do my faux photoshoot. I knew the photos of her would get me super motivated! :)

For this page I used three papers: Petites Carted, Lustre, Tresors. These papers are the lavender with touches of gray....so pretty!

I love this extra long chippy. It's a Deja Vu Border...perfect match for the collection.

This is the Luminaires Chippy for the Deja Vu Collection.
I'll be back on the 19th with three more layouts using this beautiful collection!
As always, the finishing touch on my pages are the butterflies from Little Scrap Shop. The ones used here are the Dark Lavender Butterfly Embellishments.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

One lucky winner, selected by a random draw, will receive a prize package of Blue Fern Studios chipboard!

In addition, we will also select 3 (or more) layouts to feature.
We have just a few simple rules to follow if you would like to participate in our sketch challenge:

1.) Feel free to interpret the sketch as you please by means of taking it as-is or
flipping/turning/mirroring it to suit your needs!

2). Please note that you can do whatever type of project you please - a layout, card,
canvas, altered item- whatever suits your mood and style!
We would love to see the different ways our sketch can be used.

3.) You must use at least one piece of Blue Fern Studios chipboard OR use Blue Fern Studios paper on your project. Please note that you do not need to use the pieces featured in the sketch
- use whatever suits your fancy! You can find the store nearest you HERE.
