Treasured Yesterdays 2nd Reveal

Hello everyone! Today I'm sharing two more projects I made with the utterly gorgeous October Kit, Treasured Yesterdays. For both projects I used mostly the Prima Epiphany papers and embellishments.

First up is a mini album. I took the Honeycomb Resist Canvas, cut it in half and machine stitched the two pieces together to make the album. Here is the front cover.

Here is a layout of my two oldest girls. I'd thought I'd scrap a picture of their real selves since the last page I did of them they were all made up. I painted the orange flowers  from the Flower Add-On with Gesso. They were a bit to bright and I needed more of a peach to better match my color scheme.

Here are just some close-ups of all the layering of paper and embellies that I love t do!

Thanks for taking a peek!

Swirlydoos Kit Club October Reveal

Happy Columbus Day!! We are not having a blog hop this month, but there will still be ways to win some prizes and, of course, beautiful projects to see from our talented design team!  Go to the Swirlydoos blog to find out how you can win some fabulous prizes just by being a part of our NEW Facebook gallery! Make sure you have LIKED & FOLLOWED Swirlydoos on Facebook!!!

I made three layouts for our first reveal. This kit, you guys, is beautiful! Lots of pretty new Prima Epiphany Line mixed perfectly with Blue Fern Studios. And lots of yummy embellishments!

So, I love embellishments :)
and I went a bit crazy here!
OMG! I love Blue Fern Studios paper! It's so thick and the designs are so so pretty! This paper in particular is one of my favorites because of the fairy.  So, I decided to keep with the theme and use a photo of Delilah morphed into a baby fairy :) I did some masking in the back ground and layered all the embellishments. Petals on the Wind Butterflies can be found at my Etsy Shop.

This my take on the sketch.  My four loves are all in school now. This is the first time in 16 years that I'm home alone. Even though I'm quite busy I've had to do some adjusting....it's just way to quiet. Anyhoo...first time using bakers twine on a layout...pretty cool!

The fabulous October Sketch. Be sure to enter out Sketch Challenge. Anyone can play! Here is the link the Challenge Forum.

New Swirlydoos Gallery

We are excited to move our Swirlydoos gallery to Facebook for easier posting!

Here's a list of advantages that we know you will love:
*You will no longer have to resize your pictures!
*You will be able comment on projects without typing in a captcha code.
*This gallery will be a closed Facebook group, so you can comment and "like" projects all you want without "clogging up" your non-scrappy friends' feeds! (But, please invite your scrappy friends!)

So, here's how you can get started:

  1. You will need a Facebook account.
  2. Request to join!
  3. You might already be added if you are friends with members of the design team who have already added you.

So we can maintain some ORDER in the group and be able to find layouts posted to challenges and monthly kit projects, we will be posting to ALBUMS. Posting to albums keeps things organized and prevents posts from "getting lost"  in cyberspace which happens with a lot of Facebook groups.
Here's how we post to albums:
Right under the Swirlydoos header for the group, there is a line that gives you some options to click on:

Members     Events     Photos     Files

  1. You need to click on PHOTOS.
  2.  A list of albums will come up, and you can add your pictures to any of these albums. For example, if you want to post your picture of a layout you made using the "Vintage Love" Sketch Challenge, there is an album for that! So, CLICK ON THE APPROPRIATE ALBUM.
  3. Clicking on an album takes you to another area. At the top right corner, CLICK ON "ADD PHOTOS." This will direct you to your photos on your computer, so grab it, add a description, and you are done!
If you want to add projects to the group that don't fit in a Swirlydoos category, you can create your own album! Here's how:

  1. Click on PHOTOS.
  2. Add an Album- title it with your name.
  3. Start adding pictures.

PLEASE NOTE: DO NOT post pictures of projects made with OTHER kits. DO NOT advertise for other kits, or your album will be removed. Thank you for understanding.

We hope you will join us and post your inspirational projects in our gallery!
