Reveal Day at Swirlydoos *Lavender Escape*

Today is the most anticipated day of the month. The reveal of October's Swirlydoos Kit "Lavender Escape". This month's kit is full of the new Webster's Pages Hollywood Vogue and, of course, beautiful Prima Blooms. This has to be, hands down, the best kit thus far. With any shade of purple being my favorite color I was easily motivated.

Tutu Cute
So, I'm still working on all my photo's of Delilah in her tutu. She was so cooperative I was able to get 20+ photos of her. I'm still learning some techniques in Photoshop. This time around was Textures. I placed a purplish blue texture behind the picture and used a 35% opacity. The design was inspired by Ingvlid Bloom. She is one of my favorite artists.

I cut apart the Prima vine and placed pieces of it on different part of my page.

With the Pink Paislee Artisan Elements, I first sprayed with Grape Smooch Spritz, dabbed with a paper towel then added stickles.

In your eyes
Cleapatra has the prettiest dark blue eyes. It's the first thing I see in her photos and what I always work around.

The peacock feather came with the kit...cool huh? I used the new Prima Masks to make the design on the Prima packaging.

My Delilah
Although I love purple, I wanted to go with a lighter scheme. Peach, pink and green...LOVE IT!!

The kit came with these clear plastic doilies. You can't really tell in the photo, but I misted it with a light pink.

Poise
This my oldest daughter Nefferteari. She is my biggest helper when she knows that I have DT stuff to work on. With this page I used several shades up purple. When I was putting it together I was thinking no way was it going to work. I really love the way it turned out!

I love misting! It gives character to a blank spot :)

Me & Eli-G
Elijah is an awesome older brother. He always takes care, plays and protects Delilah. So she calls him "My Eli-g". It's the cutest thing!!
The page is based on the Exclusive Swirlydoos Sketch by Begga.

One of our Swiry Sisters, Jan, did a tutorial on her blog on how to punch round edges. You can find it here.

I really hope that you have enjoyed my pages :)

Be sure to stop by the Swirlydoo's Store to get your "Lavender Escape" Kit

Thanks so much for stopping by!!!

Zva Creative September DT Blog Hop!

The Zva Designers are joining together again today to share a project that we have created using some of our favorite Zva Creative products. I am hoping that you will take some time to join us for a little bit of fun again this month!

The Blog Hop begins at
Kim Hughes' blog. She will have the complete list of all blogs that are participating incase there is a glitch along the way. If you would like to play along, I am linking to one of the Zva designers and that designer is linking to the next and so on. Be prepared to be inspired along the way. Hidden on 5 of the blogs is a Zva Creative prize package ...YAY! Those blogs will be randomly chosen after the hop is over, so it's important to leave a comment on as many blogs as you can along the way.

The Blog Hop starts now and runs through midnight US Eastern Standard Time on Tuesday, September 28th and the 5 winners will be announced on Wednesday, September 29th on each of the five winning blogs. The full list will be found on Kim Hughes‘s blog as well (linked above). We will
do our best to notify each winner, but it's best if you can pop in to all of the blogs once again on Wednesday...plus, you never know what kind of inspirational creation that you may find there. All you need to do is leave a comment on this Zva Blog Hop post...you do not need to leave a comment on each and every designer's blog post to qualify. The more times you leave a comment along the blog hop path though, the more chances you will have to be one of the lucky winners.

Adorable
I used the gorgeous new crystal flourishes and blooms.

Dyeing Diamond Dust Tutorial

Okay, it's no secret that I love Diamond Dust. So, I thought I do a quick little tutorial on how to dye the stuff.

This is what you'll need:
Diamond Dust
plastic spoon
tray (something that you won't mind scratching up)
baggie
Alcohol ink

Step 1:
Depending on how much of one color you want, spoon Diamond Dust into a resealable baggie. I used a whopping spoonful.

Step 2:
Add a least 2 -3 drops of Alcohol Ink( more for a larger batch) . I used Shell for Pink.

Step 3:
Close the baggie. Shake, rub, roll and squeeze. You know, mix it all together!!

Step 4:
Once the Diamond Dust is colored dump the contents on your tray. It may look a bit clumpy.

Step 5:
Now with your spoon rub and push to get the ink to dry and get rid of the clumps. If you like it clumpy skip this step.

See, back to it's fine shards. Pour it back into your baggie and use anytime needed!!

You can do this with any of the colors!!! Here is Copper....

and silver.

Here is a butterfly that I made with the pink Diamond Dust. Pretty huh??

Pages for ZVA Creative

Hello my friends. I just wanted to share today some pages done for Zva Creative. We'll be hosting another blog hop later the month. So, stay tuned for lots more Zva inspiration.

True Friends
I have meaning to scrap this picture for over a year!!! I knew the black flourishes would go perfect with the papers I chose to use.

Untitled
This is the first page I've done without a title. Nothing would come to me. I've scrapped the picture before in color. This time I changed it to black and white yet kept Clea's eyes blue. I love the deep navy color of the flourishes. The papers come from my August Swirlydoo's Kit.

Thanks for taking a peek!!

Sweet little girl
I photo shopped this picture of Delilah a few weeks back and knew it would be perfect for these papers!! For tips on how to do color splash please visit the Photoshop forum.

Just a close-up of my Glass butterflies embellished with Diamond Dust.

Here us a close up of the Scrapbook Jewelry. I just wrapped the ribbon behind the page and fastened it.

This the the packaging to the Scrapbook Jewelry. It's long enough, not to mention pretty, to use as a mat. I used a piece of the rub-on as the title.
