My Final Reveal with Swirlydoos

Hello Swirly Savages! Angelica here today to reveal my projects using the July Collection, Moments Captured. These are my final projects with Swirlydoos....for it's time for me to say goodbye. I've been on the design team for SIX amazing, wonderful, great years! And been a subscriber since the beginning! This was a very hard decision for me, but I just don't have the time Swirlydoos deserves. Swirlydoos has been a large part of my life and I will definitely miss all the fantastic things that come with a kit club! Number 1..Krissy!!! I love ya, girl!!!!! I want to just take a minute to say that Krissy is the most loving, generous, kindest person I know. And you if aren't a subscriber seriously think about becoming one. You'll be happy you did! Krissy has built a little family within the club! It's not just about kits but also priceless friendships! ♥♥♥

Alrighty, on to the projects! What can I say?!? This kit is utterly gorgeous!! A beautiful mix of Pion and Kaisercraft! For my first project I went with the lovely shades of blues and black. I took a Dusty Attic Clock, a special order with Swiryldoos PERK, gessoed it up then painted it with the painted in the medium add-on.

I really love the look of the Kasiercraft papers....nice and vintage. I found a pretty image on Pinterest and used it as my inspiration. I used another Dusty Attic piece purchased from the Swirlydoos Store.

Omg...I think this is the first time I ever used the color combo of gray, brown and dark teal!So pretty!! I love the Pion floral paper so much, that I kept the background simple.

This is my layout based on the monthly sketch. I love using the wet distressing technique on Pion papers. The reason being they're so pliable. The paper doesn't peel and holds the crinkles well after drying. Also looks great with layers and random paper punching.

Swirlydoos Kit Club May Kit, Peach Blossom

Hello everyone! June has been a super busy for month for me. So I didn't have the chance to reveal my projects for the Swirlydoos Kit Club 2016 Collection, Peach Blossom. This is such a pretty kit! I love the peach and the browns, a lovely combination!

My first page is based on the May Sketch. I really loved the design and tried to stay true to it.

The papers came with a sheet you can mist to your hearts content. I found this gorgeous photo on Pinterest and used it for my inspiration. I misted in purple and peach, then used yellow as a accent color.

 This is the Wall Decor you get in the main kit! I just used papers from the main kit and did a bunch of layering. The butterflies are from my stash. A Dusty Attic special order from Swirlydoos. Just another perk for being a subscriber!

Swirlydoos 2nd Reveal, Purple Haze Kit

Happy Monday, friends! I'm here today to share my pages I made using the Swirlydoos Kit Club April 2016 Collection, Purple Haze. Gotta love the name! The pattern paper mostly consist of  new Blue Fern Studios. They're so pretty...perfect for spring!  I was able to get four pages done all in different colors. I thought that kinda cool! :)

For my first page I went with a purple color scheme....because ya know, I love Purple!  I did lots of layering and wet distressing.  I used some flowers from the March Flower Add-on. This is the example for the All That Flutters Challenge. You can find it HERE.

 For this page I did some more layering this time with punches and more wet distressing. I love the look of wet distressing and it's fun to do. If you can bring yourself to wet your paper A LOT! :) 

Usually in my creating process I have a photo inspire me first, then the paper and lastly the embellishments.  This time around it was the paper. Yellow and green aren't colors that I work but I thought I'd give it a shot. The colors from the paper really inspired me and I loved the flowers from the Flower Add-on.

This month I will be doing the Anatomy of A Layout. Except it's not a layout at all but an Off The Page Project. Using items only in the main kit I created this altered embroidery hoop. You can find the tutorial on Snapguide.

 This is my take on the sketch. I first started with doing a punched background. And then just layered and distressed from there. For the top paper, I first did some wet distressing. Then added a clear coat of gesso before adding all my mediums. To give a soft water color look I sprayed the paper with water them added mist and paints. You can find the butterflies at my store, LittleScrapShop on Etsy.

We have some absolutely beautiful scrapbook projects for you to see today !!  

Yet another stunning kit this month!! I love the new Prima collection, Tales of us. Such pretty colors! This is seriously a kit you don't want to miss out on! And the Add-ons.....holy smokes! Perfectly coordinated!

When I see these gorgeous papers they say to me DISTRESS!!  I love to layer papers and do heavy distressing.  I will have a tutorial on April 9th showing how to pick and layer several papers for one layout. Stay tuned!

 

 This is the Magnetic Mini Album for the Project Add-on. You can find a tutorial on Snapguide on how I created the cover.

 

 These are the inside pages. I had to carefully remove some of the insert to all my chunky embellishments can fit. This way it can close properly.

 This cute fan came in the Main Kit. I knew exactly what I was going to do! I wanted to give a shabby Victorian look with the rich colors mixed with pinks. I first painted with thick gesso, the used paints from the Medium Add-ons. From there just did lot of embellishing with flowers from the Flower Add- on.

 Here is just a close up.

I made this page somewhat of a shadow box. I cut out the center of the framed paper and layered foam dots on the back. I then adhered it to another piece of paper. It gave about a .25 inch of depth to add thick embellishments in and out of the frame for lots of texture and dimension. As always you can find the butterlies and stick pins at my Etsy store, LittleScrapShop.

 This is my take on the monthly sketch. I just flipped it! Everyone can play in the challenge, so please come and join us!
